David and Sonia Mitton
I was raised in a small town in North Yorkshire, on a farm uniquely named Meadow
Top. Here I developed a love of farm life and the simple things that life has to offer.
As well, learning firsthand, about the mechanics of farm equipment. After helping with the
family farm which was a relatively small holding I then completed high school
and went on to college where I attained my City & Guild Degree. I immigrated to Canada in
1989 where I continued my career as an Agricultural Mechanic.
My life partner is Sonia, who is my Artistic Director and Project Manager. Funnily enough,
both Sonia and I have a love of gardening which we continue to share
and be inspired by. Later in life Sonia attained a degree in Floral Design, which blends
itself well with my capabilities.
During my career as a mechanic I have always been intrigued with the discarded, broken
and used parts that are replaced with shiny new ones. This is what has brought me
to the idea of recycling farm equipment parts. Each piece that we produce is typically
crafted from 80-90% of recycled and/or found metals.
Waste not want not is a good motto to live by in our society, and we're trying to do our part
to take discarded items and create something that will ultimately be good for the planet and
bring joy into someone’s life.
Think ...”Green”, it’s good for the Planet, the next time it says “Made in China”, make a
better choice.
We would love to hear from you.
